Unique Gardens

The garden is open all year round and there is always something to impress visitors or catch the eye.

Visitors can wander among towering dicksonia antarctica, cryptomaria japonica, chusan palms and impressive gunnera as well as colourful rhododendrons and camelias.

The Rogers family and their cousins the Foxes of neighbouring Glendurgan, were Victorian plant hunters and their legacy can be seen in the garden today.

In early spring the garden, charming in its unmanicured nature, erupts with carpets of primroses. At Christmas rhododendrons start flowering and there are plenty of early camellias followed by a large patch of wild blue anemones, snowdrops and hellebores.

Today's Carwinion is the product of 30 years of loving restoration by Anthony Rogers and constant attention by his wife Jane. The garden has limited wheelchair access. Dogs are most welcome.
